YES, WE DO CUSTOM WORK
We love making shell art that fits your room, your wall and your idea exactly. Sometimes that’s a mirror in just the right size for a hallway – round, oval, rectangular or organic, a small face mirror or a full-body one, in the colour nuance you’re after. Sometimes it’s 45,000 shells across a hotel lobby, built on site with a team we train and lead. One mirror or a whole wall – this is how a commission with us works, and how to start one.
THE PROCESS, IN SHORT
This is usually how it works.
1. Get in touch. Tell us about the space, the idea and roughly how big. A photo of the wall helps more than you’d think. If a piece in our portfolio or in the shop is close to what you want, say so.
2. We talk. We ask the questions that matter – light, colour, viewing distance, how it’s going to hang – and come back with a direction, references and a quote. Every piece is priced on its own.
3. We source and plan. We find the shells: from our own shores, from restaurants’ oyster and mussel waste, from aquafarming, or from suppliers with their papers in order. We plan the structure and, for work on site, the logistics and the team.
4. We make it. In the studio, or on site with a team we train and lead. Then we hand it over. A close and informative dialogue along the way is what makes sure you’ll enjoy your piece for years to come – and good enough is not enough. Final finish is everything.

SHELL ART ON SITE, AT ANY SCALE
We collaborate with interior designers, architects, art curators and developers – in close dialogue, big or small. For hotels, restaurants and public spaces we design and build large shell art installations directly on site, anywhere in the world.
We don’t fly in a crew. We put together a local team, train them, lead them through the build and answer for the result. The rest of the project is ours too: concept and design, sourcing the shells, technical planning, logistics and timeline, and keeping client, architect and curator in the loop from the first sketch to the finished wall.
Fields of Mytilus at Nammos Resort Amaala – 36 square metres in two weeks – is the latest example. The Flow for Vasakronan and Kåseholm Estate are two more. See the projects.
YOUR OWN SHELLS ON THE WALL
Do you have your own shell collection after vacations on faraway beaches? Our guess is they're on display in glass jars or are trapped in drawers or boxes. You’re welcome to bring them to us and we’ll incorporate them in your custom piece.
We’ve done a few mirrors like this, with very happy clients. The mirrors below are three examples.
